The Ranzani family’s journey to Brazil began in the late 18th century, driven by the hope of a better life. Originally from the town of Bressanvido in northern Italy, they arrived in São Sebastião da Grama, São Paulo, as a family of fourteen siblings — united by resilience, work ethic, and strong family ties.
Adapting to an unfamiliar land with a different language, culture, and environment was no easy feat. The Ranzanis began as laborers on local coffee plantations, learning the craft from the ground up. With time, hands-on experience, and unwavering dedication, they began to shape their own future in Brazilian coffee farming.
In 1918, the family made their first generational leap: the acquisition of Bocaina Farm. Located in the volcanic highlands of São Sebastião da Grama, the farm offered ideal conditions for cultivating specialty Arabica coffee.
From those early days, the Ranzanis worked the land as a united family, applying everything they had learned. As years passed, they expanded operations and honed their expertise, transforming Bocaina Farm into a symbol of quality and care. Their deep respect for the land and commitment to excellence became the pillars of their legacy.
Today, the Ranzani family proudly enters its fourth generation of coffee growers. Each generation carries forward the values, knowledge, and traditions inherited from those before — along with a passion for elevating Brazilian coffee.
